Meet Our Horses

Bo

Bo is a 22 year old gelding. What a sweetheart! His pleasant personality is a great introduction to horses. Even the most timid cowboy or girl will enjoy riding this calm Appaloosa. Easy-going Bo is unflappable.

Charlie

Meet 12 year old Halflinger Charlie. He often wears braids in his white mane. With a sweeping tail and flowing mane, Charlie is so stylish he makes any rider look good.  In addition to accommodating larger riders, Charlie does double-duty by pulling a cart in the driver’s program.

Cowboy

This is Cowboy. Cowboy is a nine year old Quarter Horse. He may be the youngest in the bunch, but nothing stops this spirited guy from keeping up with the herd. He’s intelligent and very aware of everything that goes on around him.

Jack

Attention ladies and gentlemen, Jack is in the arena. Jack is a jet-black, striking, aristocratic Tennessee Walker. He turns heads at every horse show. This elegant and confident horse knows his value. Frankly, he’s used to fans. He is a gaited horse and an excellent choice for riders who enjoy more movement.

Pepper

White with what looks like black paint smears, Pepper is one of the easiest horses for children to identify. He is a POA—Pony of America. POAs are specifically bred for children to ride and show. Pepper has the head of an Arab, the body muscle of a Quarter Horse, and the obvious coloring of an Appaloosa. He’s a perfect choice for small riders.

Tiger

Meet Tiger, the Halflinger. Tiger is not tall, but he is strong, sturdy and dependable. This gentle animal is a great choice for large riders who want to be close to the ground. Tiger is people-oriented. He not only looks huggable, he loves to be hugged.

Pete

Introducing Pete.  We often pair him with up with small riders who like more action. A Tennessee Walking Horse, he is known for his gait and smooth, comfortable, ride. Typical of his breed, Pete nods his head in cadence to his feet. This beautiful horse is fun to ride or even just watch from the fence lines.

eli

Eli is an Edelweiss original. He’s a Paint Horse with all the colorful markings. Eli has been away on furlough and we look forward to welcoming him back to the herd this spring. He’s intelligent and athletic. Mount Eli and you’ll find him willing with a strong work ethic.

Leo

Magnificent Leo is an attractive horse with a well-shaped head and long straight back. His hindquarters are muscled and powerful. His breed is Dutch Warmblood. That’s the same type of horse Aragorn Strider rides in the Lord of the Rings movies. Leo is obedient, reliable and always a good choice to ride.

 Starry

Starry Wonder is probably our most famous horse. We refer to him as the Ambassador for Edelweiss. He’s so small that people who see him for the first time often assume he’s a pony. He’s not. Starry Wonder is a full-grown 11 year old miniature horse. Star pulls a small cart in the driving program so that people who cannot ride a horse are still able to experience the freedom horses bring. Starry Wonder loves to visit schools, churches, and other organizations.
