2012 Volunteer Application

Horse Handler Qualifications:

• Attend a 3-hour Introductory Training Session.
• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Able to support rider’s weight, on the horse, at volunteer’s shoulder height or above.
• Able to walk for an hour, with occasional jogging.
• Able to follow instructions and understand safety cause and effect.
• Must wear closed toe shoes.
• Able to reliably commit to a scheduled weekly day and time.

 Side Walker Qualifications:

• Attend a 3-hour Introductory Training Session.
• Must be at least 14 years old.
• Able to support rider’s weight, on the horse, at volunteer’s shoulder height or
  above.
• Able to walk for an hour, with occasional jogging.
• Able to follow instructions and understand safety cause and effect.
• Must wear closed toe shoes.
• Able to reliably commit to a scheduled weekly day and time.
